Why you need Digestive Enzymes!

After a month of crazy travel schedules (which unfortunately means crazy eating schedules and limited options) I’m definitely in need of this right now! 🤗 I’ve always said to my clients, “You aren’t what you eat…you are what you absorb.” Because you can eat healthy foods all day long, but if you’re not digesting the nutrients in them, it’s not going to give you the most benefits.
You’ve probably heard me talk about gut health before; if not, it’s something I’m extremely passionate about. 80% of our immune system lies in our gut. Heal your gut, heal most diseases. Heal your gut, heal the brain. So when it comes to preventing/healing autoimmune disease, cancer, behavior issues, & more…..the key is to focus on the gut.
Digestive enzymes are just one component to gut health, but an important one. Digestive enzymes break down larger molecules found in the food we eat into more easily absorbed ones that our guts are capable of absorbing. Many people have nutrient malabsorption due to a lack of digestive enzymes. Some people’s gut health has been compromised over time that their bodies don’t make adequate digestive enzymes.
What are the benefits of digestive enzymes? Without them, we couldn’t process food. Digestive enzymes:
-Helps break down difficult to digest proteins & sugar like gluten, casein, & lactose.
-Helps heal leaky gut
-Helps bloating & gas
-Improves digestive issues
-Improves nutrient absorption & prevents nutrient deficiency
-Counteract enzyme inhibitors naturally in foods like peanuts, wheat germ, egg whites, nuts, seeds, beans & potatoes.
There’s so much more I would love to write about them but not enough space here. Just trust me, you’ll love them!
